AO means “earth” in Maori. With the introduction of the AO we take you back to the essence of why you started cycling in the first place. Where you take it and how you ride it is all a matter of how you express yourself on a bike. Whether you are the gravel racing kind looking to put together a race inspired dream build or heading out with family and buddies for a journey cross country with panniers and ample bottles/cargo, the AO will suit your quest for speed, fun and adventure.
The dropped drive side chain stay and generously sized fork crown will allow you to make all those cool choices that matter for where you want to take the AO. The whole rig has been elegantly engineered to accept up to 47mm tires with 650B or 42mm with 700C, giving you numerous tire and wheel combos to suit each and every terrain you want to throw at the AO.
As with any new frame design project, the geometry is the foundation to an awesome ride. Using an extensive database of ergonomic data we were able to map out the ideal geometry that matches both the seasoned gravel racer and adventure seeker. The AO’s geometry has a linear stack and reach correlation from XS all the way to XL just like the human body.
Married to this balanced geometry is a beautiful form factor that elevates the whole experience, employing carefully selected Toray® T700 and T800 in specific locations throughout the frame and fork to achieve a ride quality that will add smiles to every hill you crest and every sand or gravel turn you throw the AO through.
With a frameset only offer, the AO offers endless choices for gear combos, whether you want 2X or 1X you make the call. With a 2X set-up you can fit up to a 50/34T chainring and if you are 1X minded, you can install up to 48T ring with or without the factory supplied chain guide so that you never have to worry about dropping the chain when hit that rugged terrain.
The whole package is finished off with a compliant 31.6mm carbon seat post, a dropper post friendly external seat clamp, internal cabling and a matching stem and headset to create an elegant yet exhilarating ride.

About The Brand
CHAPTER2 is a new performance road bike brand, designed in New Zealand by Mike Pryde. The quest to create something unique follows a road less travelled. At CHAPTER2 it begins with the perfect frame before handing it over to you to put all the pieces in place.
The design and development of CHAPTER2’s first offering took over 2 years of design and engineering from concept to realisation. Mike is meticulous with his designs and quality control to ensure that his creations matched his stringent performance and quality standards and this is reflected in the introduction of the TERE. This is where the story of CHAPTER2 really starts.
